Studio Policy

I will teach students the fundamentals of saxophone and music in a positive and enthusiastic environment. My goal is to empower each student to influence their music education with input based on their interest and long-term goals. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student's specific learning needs.
-
Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books, music, and instrument. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. Please ask questions about home assignments so the student and parents can completely understand the assignments and goals.
Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.

“My son had a great experience with Lara as his music teacher. She has a really thoughtful approach and always starts with the fundamentals, which helped him build a solid base right from the beginning. She doesn’t just focus on playing the instrument, she also teaches music theory in a way that’s easy for kids to understand. Each week, she gave clear notes on what to practice, which made it easier for him to stay on track between lessons. She’s patient, encouraging, and really knows how to connect with younger learners. I’m really glad he had the chance to work with her!”
— Nia C. (Mother of young student)

“There’s been nothing but positive things to say about my playing since I’ve been studying with Magnus. As a teacher, Magnus is very organized, observant, and dedicated. He helped me map out my saxophone goals and gave me tailored feedback for what I should be practicing each week. From technical development to range extension and preparing advanced repertoire, Magnus was able to guide me through the process without it getting overwhelming. It is clear that the best players make the best teachers. It was a pleasure to work with him, and I’m sure you too will grow as a saxophonist under his direction. “
